Summary

A high potential for Gordion and its surrounding region to have been key producers of glazed ceramics during the Beylikler period (13th–14th centuries) is supported by stylistic similarities with pottery from Amorium, Karacahisar Castle, Anaia, Pergamon, and Ephesos. The study groups medieval glazed ceramics from Gordion’s South Trench, Area 4, and Operation 54 based on form and decorative features rather than excavation context, revealing consistent manufacturing traditions within each group. These findings help bridge a chronological gap in settlement continuity at Gordion post-Geç Antik Dönem while providing insights into the socioeconomic identity of its medieval inhabitants through ceramic production, distribution, and use.
