Summary

A significant spatial correspondence exists between date palm (DP) cultivars and cultivated areas within farms in Al-Ahsa Oasis, Saudi Arabia. The study reveals that most DP farms cover less than 500 m², with larger plantations concentrated in the northern and central subregions, aligning with tree distribution patterns. Khlas emerged as the dominant cultivar, present in nearly all farms (96.9%), unlike Ruziz and Shishi, which were absent from 31.9% and 37.8% of farms, respectively. Spatial analysis also linked DP plantations to soil and irrigation water salinity variations, underscoring the need for targeted agricultural programs. This research provides critical insights for date palm sustainability, benefiting growers, authorities, and policymakers.
