A comparative analysis of sea surface temperature (SST) trends across major marine protected areas in the Eastern Tropical Pacific, including Malpelo Fauna and Flora Sanctuary, reveals a general increase in SST from 1982 to 2019, except in West Galápagos. Notably, a decrease in SST anomaly was observed from February through April at Malpelo, Coiba, Gorgona, and La Plata, likely linked to the Humboldt Current and upwelling events.
