Summary
A study on the Ngorongoro Conservation Area reveals that while increased livestock numbers do not negatively impact wildlife, rising human settlements and firewood use significantly threaten wildlife habitats. Research involving 125 respondents found that deforestation for building materials (93.9% of cases) and the reliance on firewood (96.5%) fragment wildlife habitats, posing a serious risk to long-term conservation efforts. The study used both quantitative and qualitative methods, including questionnaires analyzed with IBM and Microsoft Excel tools, to highlight the need for managing population growth around protected areas to safeguard biodiversity.
