Summary

Mount Hamiguitan Range Wildlife Sanctuary, recognized as a center of botanical diversity in the Philippines, harbors at least 18 species of Zingiberaceae, belonging to eight genera and three tribes. The study, conducted through extensive floristic surveys from 2016 to 2018, reveals that the tribe Alpinieae is particularly diverse, with 14 species recorded across six genera. This annotated checklist provides critical data for efficient biological resource management in the sanctuary, filling a significant gap in our understanding of its floral composition.
