Summary
For the first time, fragments of a Latin papyrus have been discovered at Pompeii, challenging the long-held belief that the unique carbonization process in the region would preclude such findings. This discovery, made during excavations in Regio I, provides new insights into the preservation potential of organic materials under extreme conditions. The study, conducted by researchers from the University of Salento, utilizes advanced documentation techniques to analyze and present these rare fragments, contributing valuable data to the understanding of Pompeii's historical and archaeological landscape.
