Summary
A rapid coastal cliff retreat, inducing landslides, threatens the stability of Capo Faro Promontory on Salina Island (Aeolian Islands, Italy). This study reveals significant geomorphological and structural hazards in the area, home to a renowned vineyard and residence. High-resolution data from UAV flights, combined with detailed field surveys, were used to assess volcanic deposit thickness, rock mass discontinuities, and bathymetric-topographic profiles along the coastline. The research provides critical insights for planning risk mitigation measures, highlighting the vulnerability of this iconic coastal landscape.
