Summary
Over two decades, technological advancements have dramatically improved the precision and efficiency of documenting complex heritage sites. A comparative study of the Holy Monastery of Daphni revealed that modern methods in 2023 reduced field and processing time by significant margins compared to 1999 documentation efforts following a severe earthquake. The shift from traditional 2D outputs to integrated 3D models not only decreased personnel requirements but also enhanced the accuracy of capturing damaged or cracked regions. This study underscores the transformative impact of technological progress on heritage conservation, offering a model for future documentation projects.
