Summary

Research reveals that socio-spatial properties around heritage buildings can predict human destructive behaviors, offering a new paradigm for assessing vulnerability using space syntax. The study applied multi-method approaches to 28 heritage sites in Historic Cairo, integrating the Delphi technique and ICCROM-CCI-RCE method to evaluate contextual anthropogenic hazards. Space syntax analysis, specifically axial graph and visual graph methods via Depthmap 4 software, uncovered critical syntactic factors influencing human behavior. Exploratory factor analysis and multiple linear regression further refined these insights, demonstrating that quantitative assessment of space structure can guide sustainable heritage conservation strategies. These findings hold potential for broader application in livable historic cities.
