Summary
Archaeological investigations at the fortified church of Mortesdorf/Motiş in Transylvania uncovered a human skeleton buried before the 13th-century construction of the church. The preserved humerus suggested a height of approximately 165–170 cm, while dental wear and suture closure indicated an age between 20 and 24 years. Though masculine traits were slightly pronounced, the sex was likely male. A graphical facial reconstruction based on skull morphology aimed to visualize this young man's phenotype. The study provides insights into the physical characteristics of an individual from medieval Transylvania, contributing to the understanding of human diversity in fortified settlements.
