Summary
A Bronze Age village linked to the Hirmand civilization, Tape Yal (Yalda), exhibits a unique residential architecture characterized by mudbrick constructions housing craftsmen workshops and storage rooms. Located 11 kilometers from Shahr-i Sokhta in Iran's Sistan and Baluchestan province, this site offers insights into early urban development during the transition period between Neolithic villages and the emergence of cities around the 4th millennium BC. Excavations revealed that residential buildings were likely integrated with workshops, suggesting a functional organization where craftsmen lived adjacent to their workspaces. This discovery sheds light on the architectural and social dynamics of Bronze Age settlements in the region.
