Summary

Caravanserais, originally built as rest stops for merchants and travelers, have evolved into significant tourism destinations in Iran and Türkiye. This transformation is primarily driven by two key factors: the facilities they offer, which attract tourists, and their recognition as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The study employed a qualitative research design using descriptive methods to identify these factors through literature review, article sampling, and content analysis. By examining caravanserais that have become tourism hotspots, the research highlights how historical infrastructure can be repurposed to foster cultural exploration and sustainable tourism.
