Summary

A simulation of the 2004 tsunami's inundation in Galle City, Sri Lanka, using Delft3D-Flow and Delft Dashboard Tsunami Tool validated existing hazard maps. The study found that current early warning systems and evacuation preparedness are effective but identified gaps in proposed buildings and routes for safer horizontal evacuation, while suggesting vertical evacuation points to mitigate future risks. This research enhances tsunami resilience by addressing critical infrastructure deficiencies highlighted during field investigations.
