Summary

A study on the Historic Centre of Porto, Luiz I Bridge, and Monastery of Serra do Pilar reveals that crime against property is the most frequent, while crime against people is the most feared. Age significantly predicts both frequent and feared crimes, whereas sex influences only the latter. Social/environmental factors and incivilities also play a predictive role in both crime typologies. The research used data from 554 residents to analyze these variables through the Diagnosis of Local Security (DLS) Questionnaire, offering insights for reducing fear of crime and guiding future investigations.
