Summary
A lime plaster specimen from Anak Tomb No.3 of the Koguryo Tombs Complex reveals advanced Goguryeo-era construction techniques, characterized by two distinct layers with varying material properties. The study employed microscopic analysis, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, thermal analysis, and micro-computed tomography to assess its physical, chemical, and structural attributes. Findings indicate a high level of craftsmanship in lime wall plastering, marked by whiteness, durability, thinness, layer repetition, and smoothness. This suggests the plaster was used for finishing internal walls, providing insights into the refined manufacturing technology of the Goguryeo era.
