Summary
A novel approach to educating and raising awareness about the natural and cultural heritage of Mount Olympus, Greece, has been developed through a multidisciplinary postgraduate program. This initiative, combining elements from environmental science and special education, successfully engaged participants in a journey from Elassona to Mount Olympus, focusing on sustainable education and environmental awareness. The study highlights the potential for such programs to foster deeper connections with UNESCO World Heritage Sites by integrating educational content with experiential learning. By leveraging interdisciplinary collaboration between the University of Thessaly's departments of Agriculture, Fisheries, Aquatic Environment, and Special Education, this work demonstrates a model for promoting heritage conservation through immersive, participatory education.
