Summary
Urban waterfronts, such as Budapest's Danube River banks, increasingly serve multifunctional roles beyond their original purpose. A study identifies key factors driving the expansion of recreational functions along these areas, highlighting economic, social, and environmental influences. The research employs a mixed-method approach, combining quantitative analysis with qualitative assessments to examine trends in tourism development, urban planning policies, and visitor behavior. Findings reveal that strategic investments in infrastructure, coupled with effective governance, significantly enhance recreational use while preserving cultural heritage. This work provides actionable insights for balancing development with conservation in UNESCO-listed sites.
