Factors Affecting the Lut Desert Tourism in Iran: Developing an Interpretive-Structural Model

Desert tourism, particularly in Iran's Lut Desert—a vast and visually striking landscape—can be significantly boosted by cost-effective travel, robust safety measures, and strategic branding. A study employing Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM) and MICMAC Analysis identified these factors as pivotal drivers for tourism growth in the region. While desert tourism holds untapped economic potential for Iran, its full value remains underrecognized both nationally and internationally. The research underscores the need for targeted interventions to enhance visitor experiences and leverage the Lut Desert's unique appeal.
