Summary

Noise pollution levels in Safranbolu, Turkey, were found to frequently exceed hazardous thresholds, posing significant risks to human health and quality of life. The study, conducted across 47 measurement points during summer 2017 and winter 2018, revealed that noise levels ranged from 30.8 dBA to 73.3 dBA, with noon periods showing the highest pollution, particularly on weekdays in winter. GIS-based mapping identified critical areas where exposure could lead to physiological problems, affecting tourism and daily life. The research highlights the need for mitigation strategies to reduce noise levels below regulatory limits.
