Summary
Village ecosystems in South China Karst exhibit varying vulnerability levels under karst desertification control (KDC), with none-potential KDC areas showing mild vulnerability, while potential-mild and moderate-severe areas display moderate to high vulnerability. The study identifies topography, climate, forest coverage, landscape pattern, soil erosion, economic development, and human activities as key factors contributing to this vulnerability. By employing a susceptibility-exposure-lack of resilience model and entropy method, researchers constructed an index system to assess vulnerability levels and driving factors. Adaptive governance strategies were designed based on these findings to promote sustainable development in vulnerable village ecosystems.
