Summary
A decade-long resistance campaign (1971–1981) by Larzac farmers against the expansion of a military camp successfully mobilized diverse local and national support, culminating in political victory. This case study reveals how grassroots opposition to land development, combined with regional identity movements, can drive large-scale social and environmental outcomes. The research employs qualitative historical analysis, including archival records and oral testimonies, to trace the evolution of protest tactics, alliances, and media influence that sustained public engagement.
