Summary

The designation of Borobudur Temple as one of Indonesia's '10 New Bali Tourist Destinations' has significantly impacted its conservation and utilization, with findings indicating discrepancies in job descriptions between managing bodies BKB and PT. TWCBRB. This study highlights the tension between government efforts to boost tourism and adherence to heritage conservation principles. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, it combines observation, in-depth interviews, and literature review, analyzing data through hermeneutic paradigms to interpret managerial perspectives on the policy's implementation. Preliminary results suggest that while tourism growth is targeted, conservation strategies require refinement to balance visitor influx with heritage preservation.
