Summary
A taxonomic assessment of the Bolitoglossa (Eladinea) subgenus in Costa Rica's Cordillera de Talamanca reveals seven species, including two newly described. This expands the known diversity of miniature salamanders, with one discovered on Cerro Utyum and another from Valle del Silencio. The study redefines Bolitoglossa robinsoni and updates the distributional range and body size data for Bolitoglossa bramei. Fieldwork at key locations, including Tapantí and mountain summits, was crucial in identifying these species, many of which were previously documented from fewer than five specimens.
