Summary

A complementary and positive relationship exists between Buddhism and tourism, as demonstrated by a study of the Greater Lumbini Area (GLA) in Nepal. The research reveals that promoting Buddhism enhances quality tourism, while tourism development, in turn, supports Buddhist heritage and practices. This mutual reinforcement is evident through the economic vibrancy generated by the sale of Buddha images, souvenirs, and religious paraphernalia, which attracts global pilgrims seeking peace and happiness. The study employs a contextual analysis to examine this dynamic, offering insights for planning, development, promotion, and educational purposes in Buddhist heritage sites.
