Summary
GIS technology revolutionizes cultural heritage conservation planning by enabling efficient data management, spatial analysis, and dynamic monitoring. This study demonstrates how GIS can transform traditional approaches by integrating building and socio-economic data into a spatial database, facilitating the creation of thematic maps for value assessment and conservation strategy formulation. The established technical route enhances administrative oversight, ensuring effective preservation and management of heritage sites like Hongcun. By leveraging GIS's spatial capabilities, this method shifts from static planning to adaptive, data-driven conservation, offering a scalable model for UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
