Summary
A typo-technological analysis of lithic assemblages from Ghar-e Khar Cave, Bisotun, Iran, reveals a sequence of changes and continuity in core reduction strategies and tool production spanning the Late Middle Paleolithic to Epipaleolithic periods. The study, based on artifacts stored in the National Museum of Iran and Montreal University, examines the transition between the Middle and Upper Paleolithic eras in the Zagros region. However, the current data is insufficient to confirm or reject the hypothesis of a gradual transition, leaving this question unresolved.
